Requirements & compatibility

The theme runs on any Shopify plan. A few things sit outside what a theme is allowed to do - they are listed here rather than buried in the small print.

Shopify plan: Any plan. The theme uses no app, no Admin API and no metafields: it reads the cart, the signed-in customer's own orders, store availability and native store credit. Included
Barcode scanning: Any USB or Bluetooth keyboard-type scanner. Camera scanning uses the native scanner on Android and Chrome with a bundled decoder fallback for iPhone and Safari, and needs a normal browser tab - Safari Private Browsing blocks the camera. Included
Case sizes, minimums, tiered prices: Configured in Theme settings. No apps, no API keys and no metafields to define. Included
Second screen (cart display): Needs a Storefront API access token and a storefront that is not password protected. Needs setup
Account approval: Built in. Unapproved accounts land on a “your account is being reviewed” screen instead of the till, and see no prices until you open the account. Included

Installation & setup

Upload the theme in Online Store → Themes, or push it with the Shopify CLI, then work through the built-in 17-step guide. No apps to install, no API keys and no metafields to define — case sizes, minimum quantities and tiered pricing are all configured across the 95 settings in Theme settings, and every asset is bundled in the theme.

Compatibility & requirements

Works with any USB or Bluetooth keyboard-type barcode scanner. Camera scanning uses the native scanner on Android and Chrome, with a bundled decoder fallback for iPhone and Safari - it needs a normal browser tab, as Safari Private Browsing blocks the camera. Stock limits apply to products tracked in Shopify and set to “can't oversell.” Installs to the home screen on phone or tablet.

Updates, support & licence

[price] buys the POS outright. It is yours to keep and the licence never expires. Every update we ship in the next two years is included, along with 30 days of free support if you need a hand getting it running. Getting started

Placing an order takes three things: sign in, fill the basket, pay.

Signing in

Open the address your supplier gave you. Depending on how they have set things up you may see a welcome screen first – use the sign-in button on it. Your account is the same one you would use on their ordinary shop.

Some suppliers hide prices until you are signed in. If you see “Login to see price” instead of figures, that is why.

Waiting for approval?

Some suppliers approve trade accounts by hand. If you register and land on a “your account is being reviewed” screen, nothing has gone wrong – they have to open the account at their end, usually within a working day. There is often a contact button on that screen.

Finding your way around

The screen is in two halves. Your basket is on the left, the products are on the right, and a narrow tool rail runs down the far left.

Where	What it is for
Basket (left)	Everything you are about to order. Quantities, running total, and the button that takes you to payment.
Products (right)	What you can order. Search at the top, categories beside it.
Tool rail (far left)	Menu, messages, empty basket, add a custom item, session tally, barcode scanner, help, notifications. Which icons appear depends on what your supplier has switched on.

Finding products

Four ways in, depending on what you have to hand.

How	What happens
Typing	Start typing in the search box. Suggestions appear as you go, so pick one or press Enter to see everything that matches. Product code, name and barcode all work.
Scanning a barcode	Tap the barcode icon on the tool rail and hold the item up to your camera. A found item drops straight into the basket, with a flash and a beep so you know it worked without watching the screen. Scanning the same item again adds another one rather than starting over.
Speaking	The microphone in the search box listens and types for you - useful when your hands are full of stock. It uses your browser's own speech recognition, so it works best in Chrome and Edge.
Browsing	The dropdown beside the search box lists the categories your supplier has published. There may also be a favourites strip along the top for the lines they sell most of.

Building an order

Everything about the basket, from adding the first line to holding it for later.

What	How it works
Adding an item	Tap a product card to add one. If the product comes in sizes or colours, an options window opens first: choose, then Add to Cart. The window shows the price and whether it is in stock for the exact option you picked.
Quick view	Tapping the product image opens a larger quick view with the full description and every photograph, if your supplier has that switched on.
Changing quantities	Use the plus and minus buttons on each basket line, or tap the number to type one straight in. The X on the right removes the line.
Custom items	If your supplier allows it, the plus icon on the tool rail adds a one-off line at a price they have quoted you: a special, a sample, a carriage charge. You may be asked to type a short description of what it is for.
Discount codes	Enter a code in the basket and it shows as a chip. The saving itself is worked out by Shopify at the payment step, so the basket total may not change until then. That is normal.
Holding an order	Hold parks the current basket and clears the screen so you can start another. Held orders wait in the menu and can be brought back or discarded. They live on the device you held them on, so a hold on the office computer will not appear on the tablet in the stockroom.
Saved lists	A basket you order regularly can be saved as a list and reloaded next time: the monthly restock, the opening order for a new shop. Saved lists are also kept on the device.
Purchase order reference	If your supplier has turned it on, there is a field for your PO number. It travels with the order so their paperwork matches yours.

Paying

The basket total is a live figure. Tax and any discount are worked out at the payment step, so the final amount can differ from the subtotal on screen.

What	How it works
Checking out yourself	The large button at the foot of the basket takes you to Shopify's own secure checkout. Nothing about your card touches this screen or your supplier's.
Store credit	If your account has credit with the supplier, the balance shows in the basket and is offered at checkout.
Sending the payment somewhere else	Send payment produces a link and a QR code for the same basket. Useful when the person who orders is not the person who pays: send it to the office, or let a colleague scan the code with their phone. The link is the same secure checkout.
Minimum order value	Some suppliers set a minimum. Until the basket reaches it the checkout button stays disabled and a note tells you how much more is needed.
Click and collect	Where offered, you can choose collection instead of delivery and pick the branch. The POS shows which branches have your items ready.

After you have ordered

Your account keeps a record you can work from, not just a receipt.

Where	What it gives you
Your dashboard	What you have been spending, your recent orders and a shortcut to order your last one again. What appears is up to your supplier.
Order history	Every order you have placed, with its payment and fulfilment state. From here you can view an order, print a receipt, email it to yourself, or reorder the lot in one tap.
Being told when something changes	If notifications are on, the bell on the tool rail tells you when an order is paid, fulfilled or cancelled, without you having to go and look.
Reports	Where enabled, you can pull your own trading figures - what you have spent over a period, which lines you buy most - as a spreadsheet or a tidy PDF for your own records. These are your figures only.

Downloads

Things you can take away with you.

What	What it gives you
Price list	Your own prices - the ones your account actually pays, not the public ones. Choose everything you can order or just the category you are looking at, then take it as a spreadsheet or a printable PDF.
Basket export	Export beside the basket total saves the current basket as a spreadsheet - handy for getting a quote approved before you commit to it.
Product images	Where your supplier allows it, an Images button in the options window downloads every photograph for that product as a single ZIP, for listing their goods on your own site. Please check with them how the pictures may be used.
Quick order pad	For a long order typed from a list. Paste or type product codes and quantities, or upload a spreadsheet of them, and the pad tells you line by line what it found and what it could not. Much faster than searching for forty items.
Back in stock	If an item is sold out you may see a button to be told when it returns. You are told inside the POS when it comes back, and your supplier is told you asked.

When something is not right

The common ones, and what usually fixes them.

What you see	What it usually means
“Login to see price”	You are signed out, or your account has not been approved yet. Sign in. If you already are, contact your supplier.
Prices look wrong	The POS refreshes prices and stock every few seconds. Reload the page once. If a price is still not what you were quoted, ask your supplier rather than ordering at the wrong figure.
Checkout button greyed out	Either the basket is empty or it has not reached the minimum order value. The note beside it says which.
Scanner will not open	The browser needs camera permission, and only allows the camera on a secure address. Check the permission prompt, and that no other program is holding the camera.
Voice search does nothing	Speech recognition is a browser feature and is not in every browser. Chrome and Edge are the reliable ones.
Held order has vanished	Held orders and saved lists are kept on the device you made them on. Check you are on the same computer, and that private browsing is not clearing it.
A download did nothing	The browser may have blocked it. Look for a blocked-download notice in the address bar. Large price lists take a moment to gather before the file appears.
Tax is not shown	Tax is calculated by Shopify at the payment step, not in the basket. It appears at checkout.
